Kathleen Hayes, woman wearing grey sweater with brown hair smiling at camera

welcome!

I'm Kathleen Hayes (she/her/hers): Chicagoan, native Midwesterner, straight shooter, writer, journalist, educator, public school parent and advocate.

I’ve spent most of my professional life in complex systems (public schools). My dissertation research examined how individuals navigate this complexity in their individual and collective work.

I am thrilled to be able to use this knowledge base and my extensive writing experience to help people and organizations evolve.

How I Work

I’m committed to working my values in addition to living them. So everything I do, from my intentional approach to cultivating relationships to my fee structure, reflects my commitment to equity and antiracism.

We’ll work best together if…

  • you appreciate honest, forthright feedback that helps you grow. In fact, you probably communicate with the same radical candor.

  • you work best with a collaborator who is curious (I learn by asking questions!), detailed and thorough.

  • you deeply care about your team and the people your organization serves.

  • you are are an equity-focused organization or are committed to learning how to create equitable, systemic change internally.
